New requirements extend Google's gatekeeping from the Play Store to every alternative distribution channel.
This isn't about convenience. It's about who decides what runs on a device you own.
💡 The good news: So-called “sideloading” on Murena smartphones and any other devices running /e/OS remains possible.
Not sure where #Google asked for feedback about their developer verification program, but they surely didn't talk with #FLOSS devs, civil society, privacy organisations or their #Android users

I urge all developers of #Android apps to NOT pre-emptively obey the new terms of #Google requiring you to sign up for the Android Developer Console.
It looks like Google is attempting a power grab and wants to prevent ALL installations of Android apps without official Google approval; even those installed outside Google Play.
This is an attack on both developer and user freedom and unacceptable.

Google的「Android開發者驗證機制」如期實行了，未來安裝未驗證的APK就會被封鎖了。這是為了保護使用者安全，防詐騙。
要安裝沒有跟Google註冊的APK，需要使用ADB指令安裝，或者啟用「進階流程」。
我Pixel 6a手機原廠ROM的開發人員選項出現了「未經驗證開發人員的應用程式」，點進去，它會要你小心詐騙，並警告「要求你開啟這個選項的多半是詐騙」，然後等24小時才能安裝APK。
安裝非Google驗證的APK就是詐騙者，你這樣傷了多少獨立開發者的心呀。
奇怪的是我依然能夠安裝F-Droid和Github的未驗證APK，可能目前GMS還沒有在全球範圍內強制檢查簽名吧。
此外，目前Android 17依然能使用Shizuku（手機自己給自己ADB），所以透過Shizuku安裝APK依然是可行的。
不知道為什麼安裝root過的LineageOS的Xperia 10 V也出現了這個選項...明明開發者說他們會封鎖MindTheGapps的這個功能的...果然應該degoogle徹底一點嘛....
