Since discovering them a couple of years back, #KatharineKerr 's Deverry series has become my fantasy comfort read; it's so easy to slip into her world with its particular catchphrases and characters that reoccur, but change, across hundreds of years of resurrections. Part 7 of #KatharineKerr 's neverending series of Deverry novels suffers a bit for being the penultimate part of her second quadrilogy, as it feels a bit more like moving pieces into place for a climactic novel than a full story in itself. It also tells its story linearly rather than jumping around centuries to follow characters' reincarnations as most of the books do. But there are pleasures here for addicts of these Celtic-inspired fantasy epics, like the deepest look yet into dwarf and horsekin cultures. @bookstodon #bookstodon
