New year, new country, new #introduction. Having obtained my #PhD in #computationalmusicology in 🇨🇭 last year, I am now pursuing an academic career in #musicresearch in Linz 🇦🇹. Most music genres and styles have fantastic specimens but I seem to have a general preference for the extremes, be it #deathmetal, #hardtechno, or completely bonkers #ContemporaryMusic. Politically I'm a violent, radical extremist for #solidarity, #cooperation, and #HumanRights. Favourite vegetable: #hokkaido squash

We're an #OpenSource and #NonProfit #research, #design and #development organisation, based in #Cornwall in the UK. We actually care about stuff, and mostly work on #environment, #climate and #social projects.
We're all a bit #generalist, and many of our projects are rooted in rural issues, rather than being city-centric. Always open to collabs.

Hi, #Mastodon. I've only recently started adapting here. And have already managed to join a few dialogs. However, people sometimes evaluate a person first and not their opinion. Therefore, I need to describe a portrait of my personality.
So, I am 31 years old, I am fond of books, movies, art, philosophy, nature. I am an introvert and analytical.
I see that there are a lot of interesting people here, and it makes me happy.

#introduction Hi, I'm Jasper. I've been neglecting social media for a few years, for obvious reasons. My old twitter communities are scattered and gone, but I miss that mode of connecting. I'm here hoping to find and build something like that again.
My main things are literature and nature. I plan to post plant pictures (especially once spring gets underway) and bits about books.
In the past, my big thing was computer programming, specifically compiler technology. It is still my way of making money, and I can never pass up a good discussion about compilation models.
Despite feeling strongly about politics (resistance to capital and support for diversity) I'm going to try to avoid boosting too much political posts here, or at least focus on constructive stuff rather than the latest terrible thing the terrible people are doing.
