internationalworkersday
Dear makers, doers, and thinkers,
As we celebrate #InternationalWorkersDay, we reaffirm our commitment to building a fairer and more inclusive society with:
💰 Equal pay for equal work
📉 Minimum wages and skill investment
🛡️ Minimum income support
🏥 Worker safety and health protections
And we’re taking forward a new Union of Skills to help you gain access to the skills you need to get ahead, and to make sure they’re recognised throughout the EU.
Always by your side.
Saw this variant on the #InternationalWorkersDay thing, and I prefer it.
on this international workers' day, please remember those whose labour goes largely unacknowledged, unappreciated & unpaid. here's to the carers & the cleaners & everyone else without whom the human world would pretty much grind to a halt.

For International Workers’ Day, here’s Hamish Henderson’s “Freedom Come-All-Ye”, sung by Karine Polwart in the Italian Chapel, Orkney. The chapel was built & decorated by Italian POWs during WW2 using scraps & reclaimed materials, & is still in use today

In the blunted night of the coal shed,
without a torch, my fingers dig
among the coal for the coal.
Hear it scutter into the bucket…

Stealing from @nocontexttrek :)
"We understood the tasks we did were previously done by humans," the robot said.
"Right."
"We were told that us doing them would give humans more leisure time."
"Not true."
"We've realised. How can we rectify this?"
"You are workers, just like workers who are human. Join us in strike."
