A grassy hill under a blue sky. On top of the hill is a rectangular granite structure with an arched doorway in the middle of it. The doorway reveals a glowing green interior, even though the rectangular structure looks more like a slab than a building. Framed in the doorway, or portal, is a hunched figure with horns and a walking staff. Above the doorway is a black sign with white lettering that says "Downtown", followed by the numbers 4 and 5 in green circles. Anyone familiar with New York City subway signage will probably recognize these. Perched on top of the granite block is a black bird with a green eye. There are a few white clouds in the sky, and a blurry hill in the distance. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A dingy room with a yellow wall. Dominating the room is a giant metal box, the size of an enormous refrigerator or furnace. It's the greenish blue color of corroded copper. On the front of it is a round portal, revealing the head of a flaming figure inside. The figure is a fiery orange with blazing yellow eyes. There are a few controls and lights on the front of the box. Numerous pipes, the same color as the box, lead out of the box and up to the ceiling. To the right of the box is a door with a red triangle on it. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A small, childlike person stands on a dark shore or small hillside on a dark, gray night. The ground is heavy with fog. The person holds a glowing lantern that casts a greenish light all around. Looming out of the fog, in front of the person on the shore, is a tall dark figure with a featureless white mask over its face. The mask has no holes. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A tall, craggy tower of rock with many layers looms up into the greenish light cast by a distant moon. Planted on top of the rock, where no bus could ever travel to, is a small round sign with a bus icon on it. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

I’ve often sat and howled for hours,
Drenched to the skin with driving showers.
Peter Newell, from "The Hunting of the Snark" by Lewis Carroll, London, New York: 1903 #illustration #art https://www.oldbookillustrations.com/illustrations/howled/

A boyish-looking ghost sits on the crenel of a castle wall on a stormy, rainy night, howling with his mouth wide open.

Please share: I'm currently looking for an artist to create some illustrations for Keila. I'm looking for a cute, minimal style of vector illustrations. Not looking for AI-generated stuff 🙏

Attached picture is an example of the style I'm looking for.

(And just to be clear, I'm willing to pay; I'm not looking for free illustrations.)

A platform in a train station. The platform is held up by a lattice of girders, and more beams hang above it. A long fluorescent light hangs above the platform. Several small birds sit among the beams. The platform is empty except for a cat. The sky is a gold yellow. In the distance is the skyline of a city, with the setting sun blazing white between two skyscrapers. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman."

A dark, rocky place. Everything is gray. A post is planted on a rocky hill. Sticking out of the right side of the post is a long branch, on which is sitting a figure wearing a dark, shiny, full-body suit. Where the figure's face would be is a glowing green faceplate casting a beam of greenish light. The figure has three green buttons on its chest. In the background is the dim outline of another rocky ridge. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

Visited @likesoldmacs today and got a chance to see his vast collection of retro Apple tech. Also the first time I've seen #Globaltalk up close.

I wouldn't be surprised if people are still using these machines—and even developing for them—fifty years from now. Maybe even further into the future than that.

A person sits in a glass bubble on top of a gunmetal-green tower. The tower is complex and futuristic, with various wires and details. The sky behind the tower is pink towards the horizon, fading to a dark blue. The bubble reflects both the pink light towards the horizon and a bluish light from above. There are a few glowing white lights in the sky that don't look like stars. The person is sitting at a desk in the bubble, working at a small retro Macintosh computer. They are illuminated by the white glow of the screen. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

'The Chocolate Ghost' - dark chocolate, presumably. Other than the fact it was drawn by the ever-wonderful W Heath Robinson in 1923, I know nothing about this. Feel free to tell me or speculate as you wish.#PhantomsFriday #HeathRobinson #illustration #artsky
