Gottfried Mind, The Raphael of Cats

Labelled a “cretin” and “imbecile” in his lifetime, the Swiss artist Gottfried Mind had profound talents when it came to drafting the feline form. Kirsten Tambling reconstructs the biography of this elusive figure, whose savant-like qualities inspired later French Realists, early psychiatric theorists, and Romantic visions of the artist as outsider.

Had this guy sitting unfinished in some forgotten folder for awhile, I'm happy I decided to pick him up again.

Also, I've been wondering if anyone would be interested in commissioning me. I could make something like this for 50€

A person stands on a tarmac, a suitcase to the right of them. To the right of the suitcase is a round sign with an arrow pointing to where they are standing, like what you might see at a bus stop. Hanging in the clear blue sky in front of them is a vast, iridescent bubble, with shades of green and yellow. A few white birds are in the sky.

An assembly line in a drab gray room. Yellow spheres sit on a conveyor belt. Below the conveyor belt are various wires and machinery. Above the conveyor belt are robotic arms that spray red paint and draw eyebrows and frowns on the spheres, transforming them into the "angry" emoji one sees on Facebook. Above, a figure wearing a suit and tie observes from a glowing green window. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A figure in a heavy purple robe stands under a blue evening sky. The figure is mostly unseen, buried under the robe; one skeletal hand is visible, holding a walking stick. Under the hood, where its face would be, is a red icon of a low battery encircled by an Apple-esque charging ring: a gray circle with a short red arc indicating that the charge is low. The robe has a greenish sheen to it. In the distance is a blurry hint of trees. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

An arched, decrepit stone bridge connects two large, dark mountains. Both have turrets on them; the turret on the nearer one is sharper, while the second mountain has a few blurry outlines of towers. The landscape is partially shrouded in fog and greenish light, to the point that it almost looks like it is underwater. A small road runs beneath the bridge. The sky is a bluish green, with a single bird. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A scene that looks like a clumsily assembled stage set. Two-dimensional colored stars hang from strings against a blue-purple canvas. The canvas has several visible patches. The stage is a curved yellow-green surface that resembles a hill, with visible seams and a round hatchway in the middle from which a brown ladder is protruding.
