Absolutely AMAZING protests in Georgia. Twice as many people as expected showed up at my event, so we just went ahead and started early. We experienced near constant honking in support. I estimate that at least 97% were positive responses, which surprised us all, because we were in a deep Red area. Even one fire truck driver gave us a honk! I actually counted hecklers, but there were no more than ten. Dump truck drivers in particular were so good about drowning out any detractors.
Indivisible really came prepared. They made sure everyone had a quality sign who wanted one. They said that the other events were also exceeding expectations. Apparently, the police had to shut down part of Peachtree Street because the Atlanta protest was so big.
In my area, apparently the police moved all the cars from the Tesla dealership due to vandalism fears. The sheriff's department found reasons to mess with traffic, I guess hoping that drivers would get mad at us for their delay. But, the people were sharp. When the Sheriff blocked traffic for no reason for about five minutes, the drivers shouted "We don't blame you for this!" People know harassment when they see it.
I am sunburned and hot and tired. But so incredibly glad to have participated in this.

We marched through our city for #handsoff protest today. An estimated 4,000 people were in attendance in Columbus, Ohio!

Trump and the fascist MAGA, GOP, techbro, christofascist machine will find a way to call "violent" #HandsOff and any protests, because you are showing your disloyalty to them.
you don’t go to protests because they’re peaceful. you go as a first, collective step in defending ourselves from people who literally want us imprisoned, totured and dead.
protest is one of many tactics in collective #selfDefense. remember that.
Just checked out all the major US news sites. Currently, the #HandsOff rallies are the #2 story on most of them (after the tariffs), with the notable exception of Fox News, which thinks it's more important to cover:
1. A fencer explaining why she won't fence with a trans opponent
2. The fact that Olive Garden is no longer the top U.S. casual dining restaurant after a 7-year reign (???)
3. 5 recipes to try for Grilled Cheese Month and the Hex Clad cookware to cook them in

“Hands Off” protests began in Tigard in Southeast Portland Saturday morning, with dozens more planned in Oregon, from Gold Beach to Astoria, to Hood River, Enterprise, Redmond and Klamath Falls.
I have had a few people that I invited tell me that this Saturday's #handsoff protests were very #inspirational to them and they were just scared to be alone.
I hope going forward that these #protests have let people know they are not alone and feel comfortable coming out now. Use your 1st amendment rights while you have them.
