We went to buy our #Halloween pumpkins (early) at a local church we support. They buy exclusively from a Navajo tribe in NV, and the local church does a lot of nice things for young mothers.

They had their usual assortment of cool #pumpkins in addition to what they call "alien gourds, " which were even cooler than last year.

A bubbly-looking small orange gourd from the top (it's on top of a LOT of others of various shapes and colors), with a long green stem. If it didn't have so many "legs" it would look like a small orange octopus from above. With a handle. And carbuncles.

My current Halloween reread is The Lost Girls
by Sonia Hartl.

I enjoy the way it takes the 100+ year old vampire falling in love with an innocent teenage girl trope to its disturbing but logical conclusions.

We need a film version of it someday.
