I am absolutely in love with #tracker music. I recently spent a few evenings with a good friend and colleague of mine going through a big collection of tracks, and ended up with a few dozen[1] that impressed us in one way or other.
While going through them, we mainly used #OpenCubicPlayer on a #386 (a 486slc2, technically) with a #Gravis Ultrasound PnP. Already pretty wild that some of these files play on such old hardware - but *that's the whole point!*
Now I'm listening to some of them on my #286 at home. A bloody 286! With a 1MB GUS Extreme. As with so many other #retrocomputing exercises I go through, I am again blown away by what is possible with such limited hardware. <3
