I think, if there is one concept that I wish people would understand better, because it is quite literally the key to humanity's and human civilization's survival:
it is that the words "sympathy" (from Greek: sym- + pathos) and "compassion" (from Latin: com- + passio) do not mean to "feel for", they mean to "suffer with", to "suffer together".
#Sympathy and #compassion are not about charity or pity, they are about #solidarity (from Latin: solidus, "the whole"), about #fellowfeeling.
