I modified my snac to see how much effort it would be to add a "neighborhood" section. <p>I'm trying to decide how much of "quote posts" I want to support in <a href="https://github.com/toddsundsted/ktistec" rel="nofollow">Ktistec</a>. On one hand, it's not trivial functionality, and I really do question how much extra value someone's comments on someone else's post will add to the Fediverse. Release v2.4.15 of Ktistec
<p>Experimental support for multiple users landed with Ktistec <a href="https://github.com/toddsundsted/ktistec/releases/tag/v2.4.15" rel="nofollow">release v2.4.15</a>. "Experimental" means that it works for me, but hasn't seen enough testing for me to call it "ready for production". With that said, it's unlikely you'll lose your data.</p><p>There are lots of intentional design decisions that fit my vision for Ktistec but may surprise you. Here they are:</p><p>Every user is an administrator. That doesn't mean users have access to each other's posts and data, but it does mean all users have access to the shared parts of the site—they can change the site description, for example—and they can add new users. So only add people you trust.</p><p>If you want to add another user, create an account for them and give them their username and password. There is no self-registration. There are no invitations.</p><p>Beyond adding a user, there is no support for user management. You can't even boot a user from your site. Users can delete themselves, however.</p><p>There is no support for content moderation. Only add people you trust.</p><p>TL;DR Multi-user support in Ktistec is suitable for small teams, families (biological or chosen), and your personal avatars. That adds to the list of languages with working microformats examples:
* HTML — modern, unversioned as well as every version since HTML4
* HTML3 — see https://microformats.org/wiki/html3
* SVG — see https://microformats.org/wiki/svg
* XHTML — every version, 1.0, 1.1, 2.0
and now also:
* WML — https://microformats.org/wiki/wml
Literally any HTML-like or XML-like language that has a space-separated class attribute can work with microformats.
In constrast, every alternative to microformats (most now defunct) required adding new attributes, or worse, entirely new elements, which meant revising every language one at a time (or use of fragile XML Namespaces), resulting in supporting only 1-2 languages at most (HTML and XHTML) in practice, and nothing else.
Re-using the "class" attribute based on the existing footpath that web designers made for encoding additional semantics into their HTML, and the similarly extensible "rel" attribute, was one of the best design decisions in any extension format ever.
After 20 years, microformats continue to serve as another example of “loosely joined” approaches being more adaptable, reliable, resilient, and longer lasting than “tightly coupled”.

<p>Ückück und das Fediverse - meine neue Kolumne bei <span class="h-card"><a href="https://social.anoxinon.de/@gnulinux" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>gnulinux</span></a></span> </p><p>Ein neues Projekt steht an und ich freue mich sehr.
