<p>Just received word that <span class="h-card"><a href="https://hollo.social/@fedify" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>fedify</span></a></span> wasn&#x27;t selected for <span class="h-card"><a href="https://social.nlnet.nl/@nlnet" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>nlnet</span></a></span>&#x27;s Open Call this round. While disappointing, I understand the competition was fierce with many worthy projects seeking limited funding.</p><p>The journey continues though—<a href="/tags/fedify/" rel="tag">#Fedify</a> development will move forward at its own pace. Thanks to everyone who&#x27;s shown interest and support for this project so far. Building tools for the <a href="/tags/fediverse/" rel="tag">#fediverse</a> remains important work, and I&#x27;m committed to seeing it through.</p><p>If you know of other funding opportunities that might be a good fit for open source <a href="/tags/activitypub/" rel="tag">#ActivityPub</a> tools, I&#x27;m all ears.</p>

I argue that, with the rise of Big Tech oligarchs and the current political climate, there has never been a better time to join the fediverse.<br><br>I hope you will enjoy this video and that you will find it useful (maybe as a tool to introduce your friends, family, colleagues, school administrators, local government officials to it).<br><br>The fediverse has truly changed my life, making me a better, more empowered digital citizen. <p>I believe it is one of our missions, as antifascist nerds, to break the myth of an inaccessible and complex technology. The tools, services, and software we all use everyday are the more or less indirect outcome of broader socio-political and economical dynamics. <p>Had a wonderful time today at our second FediDev KR <a href="/tags/sprint/" rel="tag">#sprint</a> (@sprints.fedidev.kr) gathering at Turing&#x27;s Apple (<span class="h-card"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@TuringAppleDev" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>TuringAppleDev</span></a></span>) in <a href="/tags/seoul/" rel="tag">#Seoul</a>!</p><p>We spent the day contributing to various <a href="/tags/fediverse/" rel="tag">#fediverse</a> open source projects including <span class="h-card"><a href="https://hollo.social/@fedify" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>fedify</span></a></span>, <span class="h-card"><a href="https://hollo.social/@hollo" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>hollo</span></a></span>, and <a href="https://hackers.pub/" rel="nofollow">Hackers&#x27; Pub</a>.
