📷 Crepe Myrtle
📷 They were the first human contact of the day. We passed each other on my way to get coffee.
Me: "Wow! Whose special day is it?"
First Human Contact: "Oh. Actually, each one...I'm taking balloons to the shut-ins this morning." 😊
Me: (nodding, smiling) 🥹❤️

📷 Dawn, on what may be the hottest day ever recorded in my town (107º F).

📷 The Crepe Myrtle trees love this rain! They're at Peak Pink! ❤️
📷 Water standing in the front yard, just off the porch. The ground is saturated, but more on the way this afternoon and tonight.
📷 Ran into Petr this morning at the Circle K. First time in months. He's Ukrainian, a semi-truck mechanic with a shop in the neighborhood. When I asked, Petr said business was very slow. The trucking business is off significantly, so his is also. "Tariffs."
📷 Met Gracie over the backyard fence a few minutes ago. They're from Tennessee, and are here with their human, my neighbor Miss Jan's nephew.
Gracie is a mix of Maltese, Bichon and Shih Tzu, aka a "Teddy Bear!" ❤️

📷 Jack, August 1, 2024. ❤️
I had just learned Jack wasn't well and was at end of life. He was 17 when he went last February. I'm ready to adopt again or foster, but have decided to wait until I've relocated.
