The background is the stars of space, with nebula-like clouds, in blue. This has been divided into jigsaw puzzle pieces by dark lines marking the lines between pieces.

The foreground features an enormous, stylized phoenix, which is composed of fire. The phoenix looms over an Earth-like world heavily obscured by cloud cover.

Remembering that this poll led to The Last Philosopher with illustrations being available at my shop: https://payhip.com/NickEastIndieWriter 😁

As I was editing The Last Philosopher I realised I can add images to #ebooks 😁

I've added some examples of #drawings from my world. The question is, should I put them in the story? 🤔 And if yes how?

Ebook and paperback: https://books2read.com/SheConsumesPoison

Shime Yasu, a New York homicide cop, once impressed a group of monster hunters, known as the Ashen Blades, and one of them gave her their card, for the day she might be ready to see the real truth of the world. Unable to sleep and tired of being blind to the real world, Yasu calls the number and she’s brought in for training.

The cover of Scarlet Eye: She Consumes Poison, by Owen Tyme.

The perspective is from the darkness within a mouth with long fangs, the teeth appearing as a dark silhouette along the top and bottom. The background is a scene centering on a factory polluting the environment, putting out smoke and dumping chemicals into water. The water includes fish skeletons, to demonstrate how deadly the chemicals are. There are also some dead trees in frame, further hinting at the deadliness.

The foreground is a rather good looking and shiny red apple, which has the black silhouette of a spider on it, an indication of its hidden, toxic nature.

Wooot! My cozy-spooky romantasy novella A Waltz of Sinister Import is out today in ebook and paperback, and The Supernatural Adventures of Lady & Lord Riven are (for now, at least!) complete.

Snap it up now:

In the center of this image is the cover of A Waltz of Sinister Import, by Stephanie Burgis, which shows a pair of late nineteenth-century dancing slippers hanging over the title and a bat with outstretched wings underneath the author's name. Framing the cover's text are branches with golden leaves. All around this cover are snippets of text connected to it by arrows. They read: Sinister magic in a Viennese ballroom; He may be a vampire, but he’s still a gentleman - unless someone threatens his wife; Sneaking around a forbidden archive of the supernatural; so much delicious cake… Out now: A Waltz of Sinister Import.

Happy Halloween season!
A ghost story set in Medieval Japan

"Days in Green," my first original fiction, is now available as an eBook.

It is available on Amazon or kobo, and you can purchase both the ePub & PDF in my own webstore.
👇
https://pdp.xrea.jp/#sec02

If you’d like to read a manuscript sample, you can read most of the draft here, but...
https://sns.dougetsusha.com/@dig_en

📕 In the eBook version, I added the Author’s Note, Appendix, and the cover art by Maiji/Mary Huang (@maiji)!!
https://www.humangray.com/
At the very beginning, I planned this novella after looking at her illustration for the Genji Monogatari series. I'm very happy now.

Of course, I hired copyeditor Toni Suzuki (https://www.editsbytoni.com/) to polish my English. Writing in a second language was challenging for me, and I’ve accomplished that with her help.

My protagonist is Kazuhito, an ex-Emperor of Medieval Japan. One night, a ghost woman came before his bed.

She said,

“Don’t let me be killed, please. I know you are responsible for that.”

A woman wearing an eboshi on her long hair holds a fan in the half-darkness. A black swallowtail butterfly sits on it. The full moon and the title is rising in the background.

Rebirth of an alien planet.
A gigantic blue purple alien cave on a planet far far away.

On the left side are three wandering alien warriors following a light, walking through some cracks in the cave ground. In a good distance on the right side, we can see tiny visitors from another dimension with their torches witnessing this unusual moment. The background shows a rather hot environment. The path leads through ruins to an alien protector holding a newborn. 1605, London. Beatrix lives a solitary life in the shadows, wandering the city streets looking for ways to forget. Forget that everyone she has ever loved has been dead for nearly a century. Forget that, for her, love can only ever mean loss. Because Beatrix has a secret: a lifetime ago her deathbed wish was granted, making her immortal.

Until one day, whilst picking pockets amidst the raucous crowds of The Globe Theatre, she meets Oliver. They spend a single, perfect day together before he tells her that he has to leave. She’s not surprised; eternity is a lonely place.

When Beatrix and Oliver meet again by chance a century later, recognition hits her like a bolt of lightning. It’s impossible. He’s impossible. Just like her. A chance for Beatrix to truly live—and love—again sparks into existence.

Woven between the biggest events in history and the quiet moments lost to it, from London in 1605 to Woodstock in 1969 and beyond, All We Have Is Time is an unforgettable love story for anyone who believes love can rewrite the rules of time.

Tender, lyrical, and brimming with the small moments that shape an impossibly long life. Tordoff is an author to watch. —Shea Ernshaw, #1 New York Times bestselling author

A jaded immortal woman and a time traveler fall in love across the centuries, learning what it means to really live and love before their time together runs out. Perfect for fans of The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue and The Ministry of Time.

@neve thanks for hosting the regular writing check-in edition of #writephant 😊

I write low-key fantasy with romantic subplots. My latest book is Rogue & Vagabond, a second-chance historical fantasy romance set at Lamport Hall, the home of the first garden gnomes (this is plot-relevant).

All my books are available wide, and the most recent are available in print (and Australians can order signed print copies directly from my website — sorry, rest of the world, I would be embarrassed to charge the postage required to post it to you).

Ebook: https://books2read.com/EmergentConsequences

The painter of the universe, known as Life, just wanted to fulfill her reason for being, by creating a universe full of beautiful wonders and living things, but her twin brother, Death, exists solely to destroy her work, leading to an intractable argument about whose work should prevail.

(Left) The Cover of Emergent Consequences, by Owen Tyme, illustrated by Ryan Johnson.

Life and Death lay asleep in a the grass, the way they lay slightly resembling the yin-yang symbol. The tools of their trades are scattered around them.

Life is a woman with black hair, in a white robe. Behind her are the paint brush and palette she paints the universe with. She's rather short and has rosy cheeks.

Death is a skeleton in a black robe, which appears to be continually disintegrating at the hem line. Behind him lay his scythe and scroll of names.

Between Life and Death is the hourglass that serves as the source of time for the entire universe, an item that's most commonly carried by Death, but which is part of the work of both of them.

The artwork is cartoonish, with some bushes and a tree that has one red piece of fruit dangling from it. The scene is looked upon by the sun, which frowns at everything.

(Right) The background is an image of some green bacteria with the following quote over the top:

"I think I'll call it Ted."

"Ted? You want to name a micro-organism Ted? Are you serious?"

"Yes, Ted."

"Alright, I just thought Bob would fit better."

Ebook: https://books2read.com/RowleysRide

The space pirate, Captain Edwina “Roaring” Rowley wakes in the vacuum of space, in orbit of the old harvest moon, Cakana, despite the fact her body is literally frozen stiff. She’s utterly confused by the fact Nuva, the goddess of death, didn’t come for her soul.

$The cover of Rowley's Ride, by Owen Tyme. The central image is a ghostly electric guitar composed mostly of blue and white light, with a metal plate covering a fair bit of the main body. The guitar has a bright and shiny aura, almost like electricity, though the non-metallic portions are transparent. The background is a fractal arrangement of stained-glass panels, in various shades of red.$

This novel is also the subject of today's Friday Feature on my blog: https://owentyme.us/blog/friday-feature-3-scarlet-eye-homecoming.html

$The cover of Scarlet Eye: Homecoming, by Owen Tyme. The background is a collection of red fractal swirls that look somewhat like an angry tear in space. Layered over that is the black silhouette of a kitten. Within that is the silhouette of the head and shoulders of a man, in flames, with the sun at the center, though the top of the head does somewhat appear to have horns. Within the flames is the darker silhouette of a man, casting a shadow. All of the concentric layers are a metaphor for the character the novel centers around, who has deeper layers that have never been revealed before.$
