if you weren't here, you will never understand that one of the most incongruous things about that day was how beautiful it was.
there was not a spec of smog or a whisp of foggy haze. the air felt clean, pristine. after a brutal summer, it was so lovely to wake up to a sunny day that felt like a warm embrace.
til it wasn't.

there are storefronts here in the #EastVillage of #Manhattan warehoused for DECADES. there are no real realtors in #nyc anymore. they are all #WallStreet firms that bought the names of realtors, then bought all the small and family-owned properties during the Giuliani and Bloomberg years.
THIS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED COLLUSION: investment companies warehousing buildings because they don't make money from being landlords. they make money from holding the properties & engineering false scarcity.
