On my snack-acquiring walk in the rain, I walked past these guys frolicking in a driveway along the street.

Mallard Pair ... an oldie from way back in 2009 that I never posted anywhere but Greeting Card Universe ... finally gave it an upload onto my website with #FineArtAmerica, today. Shot taken at the pond where we used to live ... those summer evening reflections on the water were amazing!!! Good memories!

I almost missed #WildlifeWednesday so, here is a last minute submission - a cute female mallard resting in a small pond.

Despite being general jerks, and very common, Mallards are actually one of my favourite ducks. The females have that incredibly gorgeous purple flair under their wing that I always love seeing.

Duck decoys found in 1924 inside Lovelock Cave (Nevada), sealed up approximately 2400 years ago by an earthquake. The one on the right is apparently a canvasback (Aythya valisineria).
