A very concerned Summer monitors proceedings as her hedgehog loses a squeaker. All of Summer's toys are silent mostly so she won't wake up her pal when he is getting a restorative nap.
Somehow this toy squeaked by, literally, when it joined her menagerie.

I'm in tears you guys. MY FARKING VET had this made after I let them know that the oncology vet had to put Rhys to sleep.

My regular vet called and I told her the news, then she asked me for photos of him. I had no idea why, just thought she wanted to see him being a happy dog! While we were in Michigan I got a phone call, telling me they have a gift for us.

They had this waiting at the desk for me. I cannot believe this.

Summer cracks me up.
She goes from happiest dog ever to this in the blink of an eye.
The one, only one, neighbor who walks by everyday is the sole recipient of this look. She knows I don't allow her to bark at him but she makes sure that he understand that he is to stay on the other side of the property line.
Summer's expressions don't leave room for doubt how she feels.
As soon as he is out of sight she wiggles over to me for some pets and belly rubs all smiles again.

Cookie’s vet just called back with her new test results. Everything she had which was previously 2-5x more than normal (all liver related) have all come back to well within normal. The vet now recommends keeping her on this medication and routine for as long as possible (instead of euthanasia)! There was a moment a few weeks ago when we didn’t know if she’d make it, or what her quality of life would be. She’s really surprised everyone with her will to live well.
