Today Summer and I took advantage of our plumbing going sideways again. We can't do laundry until the plumber shows up early next week. Extra time on our hands means a quick trip to the beach.
It didn't take very long to talk her into taking the navigator's seat for the short drive.
Strangely warm weather today.
70 degrees fahrenheit in November is unusual.
We stayed just long enough to run off some energy and wave to the hang glider who buzzed us. Summer found a dead eel on the beach and wasn't sure what to think. I wasn't sure either as I haven't seen one washed ashore in years and years.

Odin went on an adventure in Amsterdam city center today with some friends. He was very well behaved and a lot of people enjoyed meeting him. The only problem was grumpy old men annoyed that I brought a large dog on a fairly crowded tram (more crowded than I expected on a Sunday outside of tourist season). I'm sorry sir but he's roughly the same size as you and they let you on despite your bad attitude, look at how happy this good boy is to be here sitting politely next to you, he stays
The weather started out cold and dreary.
Summer and I practically had to stand in line to put food in our town's free pantry. Many of us are stepping up. Although we have a good food bank it is miles away and if you have no money transportation is probably an issue. I feel really good about our close to home option.
Summer and I spent most of the morning cleaning anywhere there are pipes just in case the plumber would be plumbing there. I know it's silly but I'm sure a clean workspace is better than the alternative.
When the sun broke through the dreary we jumped in the car and sang along with the stereo all the way to the beach. Summer doesn't know all the words but she enthusiastically joins in.

Summer works hard.
She is happiest when she feels useful.
When we work on laundry together it is her job to pick up anything that falls out of a basket as the dirty clothes make their way from the upstairs bedrooms to the downstairs laundry room.
Stray socks or washcloths are her favorite finds.
This is a very important task and she never fails.
We are so, so happy to report that yesterday's drain repair seems to be holding and all of the laundry will be clean, dry and folded by the end of the day
