My rescue dog is patiently waiting for training to begin.
She is showing me that she has good manners and is using her best dainty pawed, soulful eyed position. I taught her to wait on her bed, but the rest she came up with on her own.
Benny Beagle got his first ever taste of oyster sauce after dinner in the form of some sauce from tonight’s stewed eggplant. I’m pretty sure he’s decided it’s the most delicious thing of all time. Alas, he’s now heartbroken that I told him that was all he gets tonight.

I'm in tears you guys. MY FARKING VET had this made after I let them know that the oncology vet had to put Rhys to sleep.
My regular vet called and I told her the news, then she asked me for photos of him. I had no idea why, just thought she wanted to see him being a happy dog! While we were in Michigan I got a phone call, telling me they have a gift for us.
They had this waiting at the desk for me. I cannot believe this.

Cookie’s vet just called back with her new test results. Everything she had which was previously 2-5x more than normal (all liver related) have all come back to well within normal. The vet now recommends keeping her on this medication and routine for as long as possible (instead of euthanasia)! There was a moment a few weeks ago when we didn’t know if she’d make it, or what her quality of life would be. She’s really surprised everyone with her will to live well.

Yesterday was the last day with my #BabySquirrel #Ramone 💔.
My #rescue dog Linus & I drove several hours to bring him to a licensed #wildlife rescue org.
I woke him early to get him well hydrated before the long drive.
Of course there’s a last video for all of Ramone’s fans…

1/3 ANGUS had a queue of admirers when I spotted him on a bench near the train depot. Humans Ava and Ted of Durham NC were gracious, and obviously proud of their two year-old English Bulldog.
When the dust cleared, I approached: "May I take a picture of your dog for my blog?" Beaming, both: "Sureofcourse!" ❤️

There's a bench in my apartment and when I sit on it, that tells Benson one of two things is happening:
We're getting ready for a walk.
Or it's Mommy time.
Mommy time is when Benson asks for physical affection and play. And he plays *rough*.
I think people would be alarmed if they saw the way me and Benson play. He's all big head, wide open mouth, big teeth, and crazy eyes jumping and pulling and tugging and zoomie-ing, and biting (on the toys in my hands), and growling. It's effing terrifying looking. He makes me laugh. I love it.
A couple times I misjudge the distance between my fingers and his canines but not very often. He sometimes gets too excited and wants to chew on my shoe but not very often.
He's big and heavy and those teeth are no joke. But he's my big Schmoopie.

It's a year today since Rosey Bean came to live with us. From a pinto to a runner bean - and oh boy, is she a runner 🤣
Despite having previous adult rescue dogs with various behaviour issues, having a tiny puppy was much harder than we'd anticipated. Those teeth! It was worth it though - she's an absolute delight about 99% of the time and the other 1% is usually cheeky monkey rather than full on terror. (Usually.)
Definitely a good decision for us.
