There are two recliners in our living room. Maybe we should have three.
Every morning poor Summer has to beg for someone to share their chair with her.
If she just settled for her big round dog bed or the sofa she might get cold and lonely.
That would be very sad.
When Summer's pal sat on the edge of his chair before scooting back she saw her opportunity and took the back seat. Summer is quick.
These sweet cuddles set the tone for our whole day.
We are thankful Summer is part of our family and that her loving instincts are absolutely right on every time.

People are complicated. I really don’t understand them. And they really don’t understand me. Because if it, my heart breaks every day. And I probably break someone’s heart every day.
But this little guy. He sits on my lap and I pet him. He jumps for joy and loses his mind when I come home. He curls up with me when we’re sleeping. That’s not complicated at all.

She would like you to boop her nose because she is a very good girl indeed.
There are two different personality types at 7 in the morning
Summer is staying put while she waits for a special treat. She knows she isn't to move until I wave to her. Occasionally, I break a piece of string cheese into small pieces and hide them. Today she had to use her nose to find the most tricky hiding places. There is no fooling Summer. She finds her little pieces of favorite treat in record time.
Today we will gather up green waste to take to the transfer station.
No shortage of exciting happenings on our little house on a hill.

We were on the trail anyway so when Summer said she wanted to swim I just couldn't deny her.
My hesitation was because she saw the groomer yesterday.
I decided what the heck we could chuck her in the shower at home.
So swimming and diving commenced.

In my happy, slightly spooky place. This dog is so skittish, it warms my heart whenever I can get her to settle in. I’m trying my best not to move and ruin it.

Summer is feeling fine.
She took a couple of sick days but says she is ready to rumble this morning.
I told her that we have lettuce to plant in the garden and squash plants to dig up to put in our green waste pile.
Cardboard needs to be recycled, too.
She said to bring it on.
It's probably better to see how she does at home before we head back out on the trail.
