As much as I hate being old, I am so grateful that my personal time-stream lined up with Tom Baker's, and that I got to watch him in Doctor Who on Saturday nights in the 1970s.
Yes, today I can stream the same episodes, mega-restored in ultra-high-def whatever, but I'd much rather be watching at my Nan's house, sitting impatiently through the Grandstand teleprinter and Basil Brush's interminable jokes...

Imagine if you will, a point in 1969 when Doctor Who is about to be cancelled. Viewing figures are down, the critics have panned the last series, audiences are moving onto fast paced new American shows “in color” – It’s the same pattern all Doctor Who fans come to recognise repeated over many years.

OMG am tuning into BBC1 and am catching the end of a new #DoctorWho episode, and it’s a not so subtle episode about NOT becoming a genocider to stop a #genocide.
and the first dude they save from the genocide is one of the #Eurovision presenters ―who is a presenter in a song contest in the Doctor Who universe?
and now they’re going to let one of the contestants sing a song that “THE CORPORATION” wanted to supress? so she’s singing the song now.
