I have a playlist on Soundcloud of my own original rock music and I’d love for you to check it out, preferably on some good speakers, up loud. I’m really proud of this, and would love to hear what you think.
If you have “I like music” in your profile, you must listen. It’s the law!! 🫶
Boosts very much appreciated! 🤗

If anyone is planning anything for Weed Day this Saturday, 20th April (4/20), and you’re looking for something to put on your Weed Day song playlist, I have something that may just fit the bill.
Gettin Stoned (feat. Andre Louis) will be coming out this Friday on Apple Music, Tidal, Spotify, and all the other streamy places, just in time for you to add it to your Saturday playlist. Be sure to give @Onj a follow!! He did an awesome job on the drums for this track and is a general, all-round legend!
As all #Dgarheads know, the original, full-quality wav file for every #DgarMusic track is available for download from their respective Soundcloud page, which you can then convert to your favourite format and play it on any device you choose.
Want to listen to it now? Okay then! Here it is on #Soundcloud!

2020: Started recording original songs and uploading to Soundcloud to a positive reception. Original project was to grab people I had worked with in the past and record something with them. Recorded a few songs with Reid playing some bass and guitar parts on various tracks, and he sung Proud Woman. Recorded one song with Kaaren which Reid also played some guitar on.
2021: Worked on some music solo after having some difficulties with arranging recording sessions with others. Undertook the massive task of learning Blender to make the Space Pop music video.
2022: Lost job. Lost a ton of project files from a computer crash. Attempted and catastrophically failed to assemble a band to take #DgarMusic to the live scene. Ended up deciding that if Harry Nilsson can write songs without ever performing live, so can I. Got some part time creative work. Then #Dgar joined Mastodon.
2023: Told awful jokes, posted terrible memes, and promoted my music on Mastodon. Met amazing Fedizens and connected with incredible musicians, songwriters, and artists. Got played on underground online radio stations, created my own hashtags, and grew my audience.
2024: Wanted to get back into recording, so my New Years Resolution was to write a song a month. Did my first collaboration with an artist from another country (@Onj) which was awesome. I ended up breaking my new years resolution after six months and six new songs after family tragedy struck thrice. My mother passed away, and a few weeks later, we lost my older sister in a traffic accident. The stress of all this may have been the reason my younger sister then presented with “Functional Neurological Disorder”, or #FND. Thankfully she is on the road to recovery now, although that road seems very long and difficult. I’m currently dabbling with some YouTube projects while I get my songwriting mojo back, namely #CillasGarden, and a #Valheim Let’s Play.
Future: I’m having trouble writing songs at the moment - I’m not in the right headspace, I guess. I’m jotting down ideas here and there, but I’m also toying with the idea of working on some sort of album. I really want to do a #Satisfactory Let’s Play when 1.0 drops next month too. I also have to figure out how to get more people to listen to my #music because the stats would suggest only about 1% of the people following me have ever played one of my tracks. The stats are on the right trajectory though which, I hope, is an indication that I’m doing something right.
Once again, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all of you who enjoy my work and share this journey with me. Your support has kept me going, even when all I wanted to do was give up.
Big love. Forever grateful.

It’s still thirty hours until #BandcampFriday but my new album seems to have dropped about a day early!
Time zones!! Am I right? 🤷
Anyway, “Pronounced Jar” is live and you can check it out wherever you get your #music right now!
Dgar has tried to craft an “Album Experience” for you, so let me give you a quick rundown of the track list.
Pronounced Jar
Side One. The Beginning.
1. Stupid : Youthful punk angst against societal pressures. All other songs exist within this track.
2. Airlock : That someone who takes your breath away…
3. Daedalus : Wise parental advice.
4. It’s Always Monday On The Moon : Working a dream job is still working a job, and working away from home is hard.
5. Little Black Hatchback : Adventures with the ones you love. Cherished memories.
6. Anymore : The angry end of a bad relationship.
7. Splinter In The Mind’s Eye : The province of the mind can be difficult to navigate.
Side Two. New Beginnings.
1. Digital Busker : A musician pours their soul into their music, and tries to find their audience in a sea of online noise.
2. Waving Man : Resist corporate art theft.
3. Only The Music : Music as a refuge when the void is trying to swallow you.
4. All Zombies Go To Heaven : Conservatives are weird.
5. Icarus : A flight of hubris ends in disaster.
6. Virtual Scrolls : Ghosts appear in the ether.
7. Stupid (reprise) : Maintain the absurdity. The poem rhymes. The song is complete.
This is #DgarMusic.
#Dgar really hopes you enjoy the experience. 🤘
Please #boost, and thank you all for your support. This wouldn’t have happened without your encouragement and feedback.
Big love to every single one of you!! Thank you so much! 🫶

and the cue this week is:
“Where is my #mind?”
Today’s submission is one of my own tracks. It was written in my early twenties. The #music was inspired by Nirvana, and the lyrics speak about undiagnosed #ADHD in a time before I’d ever heard the term.
This is the demo version of the song that bookends my #album “Pronounced Jar”. On the album, the first part of the song is the beginning of the album, and the end of the song finishes the album. All other #Dgar songs live within this province of my mind.

Feeling pretty thankful for the Fediverse and the people I’ve connected with here. It’s been a breath of light in a world that seems to continue to grow darker. I love how we have all these different communities with different interests all working in parallel to make the Fedi the inclusive and welcoming space that I look forward to catching up on every day.
One of my songs was featured in the opening titles of a fun new short film that @megaultra worked on recently for a film festival. I’ve also been fortunate enough to connect with an Australian artist this year who invited me to score their short film which was a fun little project too. I’ll post links to those projects when they become publicly available.
I released my debut solo album which has been well received on the Fediverse by fellow artists and #DgarHeads alike, which is awesome. @brothersoul very kindly hosted a Bandcamp launch party for my album on @labr and a few amazing Fedizens even purchased it on vinyl!
The #Bandcamp launch party was great, and it inspired a new show on #LABR specifically to promote indie musicians on Bandcamp Fridays. Brother Soul, @DJUpNorth , @darkwolf , and I’m sure a few more that I have failed to mention, have all been working hard to create this show. It’s an opportunity for fellow Fedi artists to share their music and have their songs featured on LABR played live on #BandcampFriday, in a show that you can link to, share, or download for later from the LABR replay page.
Anyway, I feel like these are all good things. Good things happening on the Fediverse. There’s a really cool underground music scene here and it’s such a privilege to be a part of it and have the opportunity to contribute.
Feeling pretty thankful indeed.
