7月17日，@温柔JUNZ 发布视频《在我们曝光他们后，他们竟然秘密转移，还有幕后BOSS？》，表示在“成才励志教育培训学校”被曝光后，“学校”内的其他学院并没有被释放，而是被秘密转移到了另外两个“校区”，一个是“湘潭县少林武术培训学校”、另一个是“湘潭县青少年专门教育学校”。这几所“学校”的幕后实际控制者罗惊人长期从事网戒行业，在2016年，其名下开设于2011年的“长沙德思教育咨询有限公司”就因为虐待“学员”，被吊销营业执照。目前可考证的罗惊人从事“网戒行业”的时间有15年，但 @温柔JUNZ 表示，有罗惊人的受害者表示他开了20年的“网戒机构”，但这一说法目前未能被核实。@温柔JUNZ 在该视频的评论区表示，“希望大家帮忙转发一下这期视频，预告一下，真的有人死了。”
7月18日，@温柔JUNZ 发布视频《28岁公务员被戒网瘾学校打死，机构依然在招生》，详细讲述了其在7月17日发布的视频的评论区中所说的“网戒机构”死亡事件。事件发生于2016年，死者名为段林吟，去世时29岁，大学毕业后成为贵州凯里市某局公职人员，但饱受酒瘾困扰，曾三次被其父亲段文浩送入“特训学校”“戒酒”。在第三次被送入“特训学校”时，他于6月17日被父亲送进了湖南的“宁乡崇尚戒网瘾学校”，于2016年6月19日下午死亡，身体伤痕遍布。事发后其家属怀疑段林吟属于非正常死亡，但“学校”并未报案，警方在未进行尸检的情况下排除了他杀嫌疑，也不予立案处理。
对于段林吟的死，“学校”的“总务主任”喻志昂表示，段林吟肯定是病死的，他身上的伤痕是自己摔伤的。段文浩对这一说法表示极度怀疑，提出进行尸检，但由于段林吟属于少数民族，按风俗逝者需遗体完整土葬，家属内部对尸检问题发生争执，最终导致尸检未能进行。
6月25日，段林吟遗体在镇远县下葬。段文浩在儿子下葬后带申诉信回到长沙，先后到湖南省省检察院、公安厅、长沙市公安局、宁乡县检察院、宁乡县公安局报案、投递控告信。7月29日上午，湖南警方对死者进行开棺验尸，尸检报告显示死者身上有20余处伤痕，且“全身多数损伤摔跌均难以形成，其特征符合钝性外力直接作用形成”，“更符合质地稍软的钝性物体作用形成”。在死因分析上，尸检报告显示死者在受伤后呕吐并将呕吐物吸入肺内，引发呼吸衰竭而死亡，并且段林吟患有的酒精性肝病及酒精依赖症，对最终造成其死亡会有一定程度的影响。
在尸检报告出来后，警方仍不立案，段文浩只得去多省寻找“崇尚教育”的同批“学员”，请求他们作证。段文浩向澎湃新闻提供的两份“学员”证言均显示，段林吟死亡当日中午曾遭“教官”苏晴拿竹席抽打，事后其他“学员”被要求说没有发生殴打。
2016月12月24日，苏晴被宁乡县公安局立案侦查，后向县检察院申请批捕。让段文浩始料未及的是，宁乡县检察院对苏晴做出不批捕决定，理由是苏晴的殴打行为和段林吟的死亡无法建立直接的因果关系。
在段林吟死后，“崇尚教育”仍在继续“招生”，并改名为“宁乡县德善青少年社会事务服务中心”。

7月6日，记者从教育矫治类机构清理整治工作专班获悉，重庆市全市共排查出涉及19个区县的违规教育矫治机构41家，已全部清理关停，学员引导安置工作正持续推进中。
同时，工作专班将指导各地，持续对组织未成年人军事训练、心理干预、行为养成等活动机构、闲置校舍、封闭活动场所等开展动态排查，及时查处清理违法违规行为，切实维护未成年人合法权益、安全利益。
