Contemplative #CharleneTheCat, in the window at sunset, May 27, 2026.

#CharleneTheCat and I survived another scorching day (85º F), in the bedroom with the fan on HIGH. New cooling unit is on hold for now.
It's a lovely evening, about 62º F, and Charlene has been on the windowsill, staring out into the woods. I called her name (she responds now!) to get this shot. ❤️
When I opened the window, #CharleneTheCat appeared out of nowhere and jumped up onto the windowsill. She's been sleeping this evening and had a proper yawn. ❤️
#CharleneTheCat is no longer showing signs of her injury and swelling. It was her right eye. A small bit of the healed scratch is visible beside her nose. ❤️
#CharleneTheCat, walking the porch rail, 7:01 PM. ❤️
Hanging out on the porch with #CharleneTheCat. It's 70º F with a light breeze, and the pollen's not too bad.
Who knows what this look was for! #CharleneTheCat had just eaten and declined going outside (it's about 20º F).
#CharleneTheCat, grooming on the windowsill. ❤️
Sat for a while on the porch with coffee and #CharleneTheCat. ❤️
It's prime bird- and squirrel-watching time on the mountain.
#CharleneTheCat's new favorite perch. ❤️
A lovely day, and #CharleneTheCat and I relaxed on the porch awhile this afternoon, pollen be damned! ❤️
#CharleneTheCat on the windowsill, 8:15 PM.
Serious shade from #CharleneTheCat perched on the arm of my chair. 😂 ❤️
Y'all, I was worried about #CharleneTheCat. She didn't eat last night, no matter what food was on offer, or drink water, and seemed lethargic and distant—sleeping in unusual places.
I carried Charlene to bed with me very late and got little sleep.I stroked her and whispered loving words I hoped would help.
Was she constipated? 🤷♂️
She ate kibble about 2:00 this afternoon, visited her box, drank water and slept on the couch, one of three favorite spots. A half-hour ago, she woke and sat beside her bowl, making eye contact. That's Charlene's "Can I haz food?" signal to me.
She ate, pooped, drank water then jumped onto the windowsill for a look around outside. Now, Charlene's asleep on the couch again. ❤️
Guess who's up and wants breakfast! ❤️
A sure sign #CharleneTheCat is feeling better—she jumped onto the back of my desk chair and hung out with me for a while. ❤️
#CharleneTheCat, napping after eating supper and grooming on the windowsill. ❤️
I think #CharleneTheCat was genuinely surprised I showed up at home after 6 hours away today—the longest she's been in the cabin alone.
There were scritches aplenty, lots of purring and this! What does Charlene want? ❤️

#CharleneTheCat, "loafing" around this morning. ❤️
