As of today it's been exactly 10 years since The Boxtrolls first appeared in theaters. I'm so very thankful for the amazing people I worked alongside with to bring such a bizarre stop-motion vision to life. The magazine's straightforward acknowledgment that Kane was the inspiration for Betty Boop provides important historical documentation of how the character's origins were publicly understood at the time.
