A quaint little shack sits alone and forlorn on top of Blue Knob Mountain, All Season's Resort, in Claysburg, PA.

Seen on a quiet spring day, you would think the true view here at the top of Blue Knob Mountain in Claysburg, Pennsylvania, would be just at the rim of the hill the shack is perched upon. And that is the view we normally can't wait to visit. It's breathtaking ... the rolling hills of the Laurel Highlands ripple out in front of us like waves upon the sea. But on this day .. the quiet light, the trees just beginning to leaf out, the clouds ... and most fun, the golden dandelions at our feet, beg us to take a extra moment or two to enjoy the simplicity of the wooden ski-shack itself.

It'll take a couple of seasons, but soon it will no longer be forlorn. As soon as snow flies, the skiers will return ... and it will see its share of fun again.

It was . . . so silent.

The hike to reach this spot in the Oregon wilderness was long and winding, but every step was worth it when I found myself in a magical enclave.

The glow of light around the trees, the boulders looking as if they had been tossed by a giant child, the incredibly clear and crisp air -- all combined to create a place of silence, majesty, and peace.

We never have been obsessive about our yard, which is one reason we enjoy living in the country.

The weeds in the fields around us, as opposed to being something we slop poison over, are a salad bar for our goats, not to mention a resource for ourselves, as we forage and make teas.

Nature gives many gifts, and waits patiently for us to open them.

Her bare feet touched the ground, connected with the earth beneath her, surrounding her. The soft breeze was cool, refreshing, brushing lightly and gently across her skin.

She leaned back ever so slightly, relaxed yet poised, one with the landscape and at the same time she was independent of it.

She felt energized yet calm, grateful to be in a place of such beauty and mystery.

I painted this cup of java and vase of flowers completely from my imagination in #EscapeMotions #Rebelle (and a trip or two to #CorelPainter and Photoshop), using Rebelle's pastel brushes and the #Wacom tablet. It started out as a doodle ... I seem to either doodle trees or vases of flowers ... and the #coffee cup showed up seemingly by itself. I was tempted to bring in more detail but decided to keep it loose and impressionistic-y ... that's pretty much how the world looks to me first thing in the morning anyway. Not created using AI - Artificial Intelligence programs.
