Isn’t this the coolest Free Little Library you’ve seen? This is over off Ward Parkway and is a miniature Union Station. Someone put so much attention to detail into this! Felt like there was too much to wrap up in so short a space, but he pulls it off remarkably, leaving an uncertainty as to what was real and what imagined or simulated.

A Troubling Tail by Laurie Cass and Erin Bennett (Narrator) (2023) is the eleventh book in the Bookmobile Cat mystery series. The local candy shop owner has been murdered and no one can understand why. As far as anyone knew he didn't have an enemy in the world. While Minnie wants to investigate she's also busy juggling her duties with the book mobile, her upcoming wedding, and a book bike that has been built and donated by the board president.

At the Mountains of Madness by H.P. Lovecraft (1936) is perhaps the ur horror set in Antartica. We have a remote outpost, a bunch of scientists, and an unexpected mountain. This novel is also the one directly credited for inspiring What Stalks the Deep by T. Kingfisher (2025).

Ursula Le Guin‘s daily schedule

5:30 a.m. - wake up and lie there and think.
6:15 a.m. - get up and eat breakfast (lots).
7.15 a.m. - get to work writing, writing, writing.
Noon - lunch.
1:00-3:00 p.m. - reading, music.
3:00-5:00 p.m. correspondence, maybe house cleaning.
5:00-8:00 p.m. make dinner and eat it.
After 8:00 p.m. - I tend to be very stupid and we won't talk about this.

This was Le Guin's daily schedule first appeared in an interview she gave in 1988 (and more recently reappeared in Ursula Le Guin: The Last Interview and Other Conversations).

In our shop there is a display-window for which we pick a topic that is important to us. There we place all kinds of books beside each other. Poetry and prose, fiction and non-fiction, childrens' books and essays. There only has to be an association which connects them. We call this our "Wabe", our honey-comb.
