Rather than relying on strict, rigid training formulas, the author advocates for an approach rooted in intuition, mindfulness, and a healthy dose of common sense.<br>By sharing her own personal experiences, Berendsen takes the reader into the world from the dog's perspective. </p><p>The book serves as a comprehensive manual covering the full spectrum of a dog's life, including:<br> * The Early Stages: What to look for when getting a dog, the dangers and consequences of puppy mills, and the critical socialization period.<br> * Behavior and Training: Navigating dog puberty, establishing healthy boundaries, understanding how dogs learn, and the pros and cons of using corrections.<br> * Health and Psychology: Managing both physical and mental well-being, dealing with hyperactive or obsessive/addictive behaviors, and navigating interactions with other dogs.<br> * Specialized Roles: It even touches on the training and life of psychosocial service dogs.<br>Ultimately, the book is designed to help owners build a deeper, more empathetic, and balanced relationship with their dogs by truly understanding the "why" behind their behavior.</p><p>Some Dutch info about the book, written on/by Dagboek van een hond © (A dog's diary):<br>🔗 <a href="https://www.dagboekvaneenhond.nl/de-5-beste-boeken-over-het-gedrag-van-honden/#bewust-van-hondengedrag" rel="nofollow" class="ellipsis" title="www.dagboekvaneenhond.nl/de-5-beste-boeken-over-het-gedrag-van-honden/#bewust-van-hondengedrag"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">www.dagboekvaneenhond.nl/de-5-</span><span class="invisible">beste-boeken-over-het-gedrag-van-honden/#bewust-van-hondengedrag</span></a></p><p>Catch you all later folks!</p><p><img src="https://eggplant.place/media/emoji/beige.party/playstation.png" class="emoji" alt=":playstation:" title=":playstation:"> <img src="https://eggplant.place/media/emoji/beige.party/pixy_party.gif" class="emoji" alt=":pixy_party:" title=":pixy_party:"> <img src="https://eggplant.place/media/emoji/beige.party/blobcatbook.png" class="emoji" alt=":blobcatbook:" title=":blobcatbook:"></p><p><a href="/tags/bookstodon/" rel="tag">#Bookstodon</a> <a href="/tags/reading/" rel="tag">#Reading</a> <a href="/tags/books/" rel="tag">#Books</a> <a href="/tags/boeken/" rel="tag">#Boeken</a> <br><span class="h-card"><a href="https://fedigroups.social/@bookstodon" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>bookstodon</span></a></span></p>
