Rated The Wife and Other Stories 8/10
I think I liked "About Love" and the title story the best, but I suspect I may be more of a Bulgakov gal.
Rated Doctor Who: The Oseidon Adventure 6/10
Not bad. Enjoyed having the Master around to ham around with the Doctor.
Rated Torchwood: The Grey Mare 10/10
<div>A good spooky Christmas story with Ianto. Have yet to go wrong with a Ianto-centered Torchwood story.</div>
Don Quixote is often cited as the first modern #novel - a book about a man who reads so much he starts living inside stories.

“Can you understand? Someone, somewhere, can you understand me a little, love me a little? For all my despair, for all my ideals, for all that – I love life. But it is hard, and I have so much – so very much to learn.”

Rated Torchwood: Uncanny Valley 8/10
Jack Harkness has hate-sex with a queer robot designed to look like a well-known billionaire? Yes, this sounds like Torchwood.
Orwell once explained his mission very simply: he wrote because there was “some lie” he wanted to expose and “some fact” he wanted people to see.
Happy Birthday George Orwell!

Rated The Name of the Star 10/10
I really enjoyed this and would enjoy reading the rest of the books in the series. Well-written, often funny, and the sort of book you point at in arguments against people who disparage YA.
Rated Torchwood: A Postcard From Mr Colchester 7/10
<div>Wish it was longer, but for a freebie, this was amusing. I wasn't previously acquainted with this Torchwood character.</div>

Rated Tropic of Squalor: Poems 8/10
So much good stuff in here. Sad, thoughtful, reverent, maybe sometimes a little too on the nose, but that's ok too.

Rated Uncanny Magazine Issue 14: January/February 2017 4/10
<div>Though I appreciate what this mag is trying to do in terms of prioritizing different voices in fantasy writing, unfortunately it doesn't bring much that I enjoyed. I liked a few things in here well enough (the Santería poem the most, maybe), but groaned at a LOT of the stories. Overcooked prose, badly in need of trimming, bangs out a thesaurus' most "whimsical" adjectives when a simpler approach would do. One interview was better than the other.<br><br>Just not for me, but at least it wasn't all bad. And it was short. I'm sure other issues are better, but I'm not in a hurry to find out.</div>
"Write the truest sentence that you know."
That simple advice guided Ernest Hemingway (July 21, 1899 – July 2, 1961) throughout his life. A reporter, soldier, traveler, Nobel Prize winner, and master storyteller, he transformed real-life adventure into timeless literature.

Rated UNIT: Silenced 9/10
<div>The Silents are definitely among the most creepy Doctor Who villains. Best UNIT standalone I think I've heard, tbh.</div>
