Rated The Sirens of Titan 6/10
This was the first Vonnegut book I've read (I know, I'm under-read in certain areas), and it was fine for me, but I suspect that there are others of his I'd like better.

Rated The Truth of It All 6/10

Duck Creek is sort of like a fictionalized Whitefish, MT, with a refugee program like the one that exists in nearby(ish) Missoula. And unfortunately like the Whitefish/Kalispell area, it has a white supremacist problem. Trouble is, our protagonist doesn't ever fully realize she's guilty of her own racist assumptions at the beginning of the book. Sure, she eventually figures out that she was badly doing her job as a public defender, and sure she's got a Black coworker who very patiently endures her ignorance, but of course everything works out for her in the end, and she only has to complete most of a personal reckoning. Don't strain yourself digging too deep, girl!

I was interested in seeing how the story shook out, and the writing style reminded me of other mysteries I've liked, and I'm not sorry I read it, but I didn't find enough compelling about Julia to want to read another book with her at the forefront. Your mileage may vary!

Rated The Catcher in the Rye 6/10
Rated The War Master: Only The Good 10/10
I am so pleased to have finally gotten to this. Derek Jacobi brings both gravitas and menace to the Master, and the stories here are really good. Excited to carry on with more of the series.
Rated The War Master: Killing Time 10/10
Finished reading The Galaxy, and the Ground Within
Rated The War Master: The Master of Callous 8/10
Properly unsettling, as a good Master story should be, though I do wish there was a bit more of him in it.
Finished reading That Time I Got Drunk and Yeeted a Love Potion at a Werewolf
Rated The Wife and Other Stories 8/10
I think I liked "About Love" and the title story the best, but I suspect I may be more of a Bulgakov gal.
Rated This World Our Hell 8/10
Good, but I wished it was longer.
