Rated Tranny: Confessions of Punk Rock's Most Infamous Anarchist Sellout 8/10
Really affecting and raw, not especially self-flattering, and compelling. It's both a showbiz memoir and a coming-out memoir - Laura Jane Grace was well into a music career before she transitioned, though her process of discovering her gender was happening in small ways all along. Intersperses entries from her touring career into the narrative, so you see her story from multiple points of view, in a way.

Re-read this for obvious reasons. Striking things in this go-round: the frequent references to machine-made music, novels and even pornography; the preponderance of ugly little weirdos among Party members; the divestment in science that isn't weaponry- or surveillance-related.

love this. very thoughtfully done and lays out a theory of infrastructure as both care and freedom. Practical and informative, but with ideas, too.
