Rated Het echte leven 10/10
Wat een boek! Echt een achtbaan van emoties, waarbij je steeds in een ander subverhaal valt en van de ene verbazing in de andere tot het overweldigende einde. Voor mij met afstand het boek van 2020.

Rated Beacon 23 4/10
Howley's weakest book I read so far. The setting is compelling, a man, along in a lighthouse in space. The story is interesting too, weird things happen in the lighthouse and there is a war, from which our hero tried to escape by taking up the post in the lighthouse. But the pace is off, it is nothing like the slumbering, creeping narrative of Wool, or the fast pace of Molly Fyde. Stuff happens, but it does not really build up on other events, and the ending comes quick and unanticipated. Disappointing.
Rated The Silent Patient 6/10
Read this in a weekend on old fashioned paper! Really engaging but the ending is a bit so-so.
Rated River of Teeth 10/10
YES! This book OMG. Loved it. It is a western, but with hippos. That is just it. A crew of awesome people is organizing a caper, ow no "it is not a caper, it is an operation". Interesting stories that weave into each other, a bit like a farce but thrilling and engaging, rather than slapstick funny.
Rated Strangers on a Train 8/10
This book is weird! I mean the book can't help it, but it all feels so 'tropey' the train thing but of course this book is the original one. It was a long read, and boring here and there, I am sure I would have not been able to finish it as a paper book, but in audio it was good (read by Bronson Pinchot on Audible with some good voice work). The way the characters interact is really well-designed, you understand the needs of the both of them (being friends/loved versus being left alone) really well.
Wants to read Uncle Petros and Goldbach's Conjecture
