There are so many images and memories in my head that I'd love to paint up and bring back to life. Well, you know, bring back in a way. I keep telling myself, just go for it. I even made a list of the scenes I'd love to revisit, even if only imperfectly, using the amazing tools of digital hand-painting from #CorelPainter or #Rebelle. This one ... well ... it's not one of the ones on the list ... but it is basically a scene I've seen a million times as I've driven down country roads here in the #MidAtlantic area. Those brief moments of magic where the sky and the sunlight and the compositions are breathtaking, but your car is traveling at 50-60 mph and the guy behind you is too close and there's no way you can pull over, hop out of the car and get the shot. Besides ... you left the camera at home again. So this one might be from my imagination but it's also representative of all those pretty trees up on those pretty hillsides, against those fabulous skyscapes. An homage to the ordinary.

Was the tree lonely, standing all by itself on the hillside, with nary a tree friend beside it?

I don't think so. There was the grass, bushes growing amongst it, the distant forest, the surrounding hills, and all the small animals that stopped to take rest in the tree's shade.

There was always someone to talk to. And then there was that view . . .

Placed in the top of the tree is a house that, while it is small, still looks entirely too large to be supported by the tree. The underside of the house is bright pink and yellow from the sun on the horizon. The house has a door in the front and a glowing yellow window on the side. It has a dish antenna sticking out of the roof. Hanging from a lower branch is a mailbox. The horizon glows pink and yellow, giving way to a dark blue sky. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".
