Man is kidnapped from a Walmart, by masked people wearing DHS-marked clothing in Bernalillo County #NewMexico. Video at https://bsky.app/profile/thejenniwren.teamlh.social/post/3lthldraxms2a. I believe this is a Walmart between #Albuquerque and #SantaFe. Tough to watch, but we must bear witness.
This sort of awfulness is happening in many states. It is why I’m so active in fighting fascism in mine. If you haven’t yet, I highly recommend getting involved in your local Indivisible group. Find it at https://indivisible.org/groups.
If someone tells you that mass surveillance is no big deal & they have nothing to hide...
Send them this clip of Flock's pan, tilt, zoom camera following someone around in #Albuquerque and say "are you ok with a private company doing this and then using AI facial recognition to combine it with data from commercial data brokers about who you are, where you live, what products you buy, when your last doctor's visit was, etc?"
