N.Y. Gov. Kathy Hochul is expected to sign a bill that bans anonymous complaints to the state child abuse hotline. The law would still maintain the confidentiality of callers.
The change comes in the wake of a 2023 ProPublica investigation that showed how the hotline had been weaponized by people endlessly calling in baseless allegations against exes or rivals.

Well, it dropped in June, but I just found out about it. I've listened to the first episode and I hope it's successful because it's doing such important work.
This podcast is about child sexual abuse in the LDS church. The information is presented in a clear way with empathy towards survivors and with the legal details that show just how liable the LDS church is and how its influence on #Utah politics and culture has contributed to why 1 in 7 children in Utah will experience childhood sexual abuse (in comparison to 1 in 9 in the US).
