A French family moves to a new neighborhood with during the summer holidays. The story follows a 10-year-old gender non-conforming child, Laure, who experiments with their gender presentation, adopting the name Mikäel.

Ari, 27 ans, professeur-stagiaire, s’effondre lors de la visite d’une inspectrice. Son père, très remonté de le voir défaillir, lui impulse de prendre le large. À fleur de peau, seul dans la ville, il se lance malgré lui dans une ronde de retrouvailles avec ses ancien.ne.s ami.e.s. Alors que les souvenirs des derniers mois reviennent par vagues successives, il découvre que les autres ne vont pas si bien qu’il l’aurait imaginé, et que quelque chose dort en lui.
