主角罗那（兰/拿）是一个平凡的月之子（月之居民）。为贯彻月之女王迪安娜的回归地球行动而与另外两个同伴一同被送到地球。因不适应新环境而几乎遇险，被姬艾尔/苏菲亚姐妹所救而为她们家打工。在一次偶然的机会下发现了埋在矿山中的Turn A Gundam并凭借月之子的经验/判断力而驾驶其对抗入侵的月之回归军。动画并没有特意便标榜罗那为New Type。剧中一些细节，例如罗那变装美女“罗伦”，用高达运牛，洗衣服等等都为这部高达增添了一份前所未有的轻松感．
罗兰肩负月之住民的期望，他是为了用自己的肉体证明月之住民适合地球的环境而被送来的少年中的一人。这是月之住民为回到地球而进行的战斗的第一步，可说是一种献身的行为，罗兰顺利地完成了任务，少年们自从落到地球后，适应了地球的环境并溶入了这里的社会……他们相信，当月球的同伙们访问地球的时候，无论是月之住民还是地球人都可以拉起手来成为朋友。

Amuro Ray and the rest of the White Base crew, now denominated the 13th Autonomous Corps, return to outer space to support the rest of the Earth Federation forces for the decisive battle against the Principality of Zeon's forces.

After surviving attacks by Zeon's Char Aznable and Garma Zabi, the crew of Federation warship White Base and its mobile suits must battle Zeon forces through Asia, Europe, and the Atlantic Ocean if they are to reach Earth Federation's headquarters alive. During that process, many of its crewmembers must overcome their fears, losses, immaturities, and insecurities in order to persevere.

二重太陽サンズを取り巻く５つの惑星からなる太陽系ペンタゴナ・ワールド。その辺境にある惑星コアムに青雲の志を胸に故郷を旅立った若者２人、ダバ・マイロードとミラウー・キャオがいた。
支配者ポセイダルによって治められているもののペンタゴナ・ワールドの政治は腐敗しており、各地では反乱軍が決起し戦乱が絶えなかった。ダバたちは元盗賊団のファンネリア・アムや、同様に青雲の志に燃えるギャブレット・ギャブレーと出会い、あるいは衝突しながら、ペンタゴナ・ワールドの実態を知るようになる。

主人公の少年ユウキ・コスモら地球人が移民したソロ星で、第六文明人の遺跡が発掘された。遺跡の文献からフォルモッサ・シェリルが導き出した名を取り、発掘された巨人ロボットはイデオンと呼ばれるようになる。
そのイデオンは、異星人バッフ・クランの伝説でイデの巨神として語り継がれていたものだった。イデ捜索隊隊長のギジェ・ザラルに無断で、カララ・アジバが調査のためにソロ星（ロゴ・ダウ）へ向かう。
コスモ、ジョーダン・ベス、イムホフ・カーシャがイデオンを操縦するが、二つの人類は双方とも相手を異星人と呼び、恐れ、自分の星を守るために異星人を殲滅しようとして戦火を拡大させた。
コスモ達はソロ星を捨て、イデオンの母船ソロシップに乗って宇宙を逃亡する。

あらすじ
密林地帯を抜け、最終決戦の地に向かうガンダムEz-8に搭乗するシロー・アマダ率いる第08MS小隊。その途中の陸橋にさしかかった瞬間、カレンの搭乗する陸戦型ガンダムが狙撃され、さらに上空からは、ジオン軍のMS・グフフライトタイプが襲い掛かる！危機迫る状況の中、シローたちはどう切り抜けていくのか…!？第08MS小隊、新たなる戦いの記録が今ここに！

In the year Universal Century 0079, humans have colonized the area of space lying in between the Earth and the moon. However, the ambitious Zabi family, rulers of the Duchy of Zeon, the grouping of colonies furthest from the earth, has sparked a war.

Universal Century 0087. The Titans, a bellicose faction among the Earth Federation Forces, grows powerful and tyrannical, even using poison gas to suppress a civil unrest. Dissident soldiers from the same military stand against them, forming a resistance group called the AEUG. Kamille Bidan, a civilian student, gets entangled in this conflict when he impulsively steals the Gundam Mark II and joins the AEUG, running away from his home space colony. Then he begins to fight along with Char Aznable, a former Zeon ace pilot who has infiltrated the Earth Sphere for reasons of his own. This is the first part of the feature trilogy derived from the anime series Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, and features enhanced animation and theme songs by GACKT.

Universal Century 0068, Side 3 - The Autonomous Republic of Munzo. Zeon Zum Deikun attempts to declare complete independence of Munzo from the Earth Federation Government, while he preaches the evolutionary potential of humans who have advanced into outer space. Deikun however suddenly falls to his death in the middle of his speech at parliament. Upon Deikun's death, Jimba Ral spreads word of a House of Zabi conspiracy - but despite such efforts the power and sphere of influence of House of Zabi, led by Degwin Sodo Zabi, only seem to escalate. While we witness for the first time the untold convulsions of Universal Century history, Casval and Artesia, just bereaved of their father, must face destinies which will be just as tumultuous as the very era itself.

Tekkadan, the organization to which the protagonist Mikazuki Augus belongs, rose to fame following their mission to escort Kudelia Aina Bernstein to EARTH and the subsequent battles surrounding the Arbrau representative nomination election. The exposure of Gjallarhorn's corruption during these conflicts has caused the world to change, slowly but surely.

Thanks to the half-metal concessions gained through negotiations with Arbrau, Tekkadan became a direct affiliate of Teiwaz. This brought them abundant funding and a surge in new recruits, expanding their scale enough to establish a branch on EARTH.

Meanwhile, Kudelia, having learned the true state of the world during her journey to EARTH, founded the Admoss Company. She now strives for the economic independence of Mars through realistic and practical approaches. However, many are displeased with their rising fame and the new paths they have chosen.

During an inspection of a half-metal mining site by the Admoss Company, Orga Itsuka, the leader of Tekkadan hired to escort them, senses an impending attack from a new enemy. Under Orga's command, Tekkadan and Mikazuki head out to repel the threat alongside the mobile suit "Gundam Barbatos Lupus".

In the year C.E.70, the conflict between the Z.A.F.T. Forces and the O.M.N.I. Enforcer has erupted into armed warfare of the highest intensity in the wake of the "Bloody Valentine" catastrophe. An armistice is signed following the Second Battle of Yakin Deyue, which saw massive casualties, but no armistice could extinguish the hostilities that existed between the Naturals and the Coordinators. Shinn Asuka finds himself caught up in the O.M.N.I. Enforcers' Orb Operation, and sees his parents and sister killed before his very eyes by the fighting.

C.E.70. The friction between the Naturals (the Earth Alliance) and the Coordinators (ZAFT), who seek to establish their own economic bloc, finally escalates into armed conflict with the "Bloody Valentine" tragedy. With its mobile suits, ZAFT is able to overwhelm the Earth forces on many fronts, but the war drags on longer than expected. Eleven months after the "Bloody Valentine," a young Coordinator named Kira Yamato is caught up in ZAFT's Gundam capture operation. Also involved in this operation is Kira's former friend Athrun Zala, who has become a ZAFT soldier. Amid the flames of war, the two are fatefully reunited. But in order to protect his Natural friends, Kira boards the Strike Gundam, the only one which has escaped capture, and now faces Athrun as an enemy...
