Overman King Gainer is an anime TV series, created by Sunrise. Directed by longtime animator Yoshiyuki Tomino, the creator of the Gundam series, written by Ichirō Ōkouchi, and featuring character designs by Yoshihiro Nakamura, Kinu Nishimura and Ken'ichi Yoshida, the series ran from September 7, 2002 to March 22, 2003 on Japan's WOWOW network, spanning a total of 26 episodes.

Universal Century 0087. The Titans, a bellicose faction among the Earth Federation Forces, grows powerful and tyrannical, even using poison gas to suppress a civil unrest. Dissident soldiers from the same military stand against them, forming a resistance group called the AEUG. Kamille Bidan, a civilian student, gets entangled in this conflict when he impulsively steals the Gundam Mark II and joins the AEUG, running away from his home space colony. Then he begins to fight along with Char Aznable, a former Zeon ace pilot who has infiltrated the Earth Sphere for reasons of his own. This is the first part of the feature trilogy derived from the anime series Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, and features enhanced animation and theme songs by GACKT.

In the year Universal Century 0079, humans have colonized the area of space lying in between the Earth and the moon. However, the ambitious Zabi family, rulers of the Duchy of Zeon, the grouping of colonies furthest from the earth, has sparked a war.

同時にプレートからリバイバルする「アンチボディ」も現れ、国連はオルファンに反発するアンチボディ「ブレンパワード」を使って浮上を阻止しようとする一方、「リクレイマー」となり、ともに宇宙へ旅立とうとする・・・。21世紀を迎えたいまこそ、改めて見なおしてみたい作品だ。

In a future, decimated Earth after the discovery of a mysterious, alien spacecraft dubbed "Orphan". A group of researchers scour the planet for Orphan's disc plates using mecha called "Antibodies" in order to revive the craft, an event that would result in the utter destruction of all lifeforms on Earth. The protagonists Yu Isami and Hime Utsumiya must utilize a special Antibody called "Brain Powerd" to counter the Orphan plans and save humanity.

5,000 years ago, the Triton Family was living peacefully in Atlantis until the Poseidon Family destroyed them all. Triton, of the Triton Family line, embarks on an adventurous life in the sea fighting the Poseidon Family.

From the continuing reclamation of the ruins of the planet Solo, mysterious mechas are excavated. But suddenly, an alien called Baff Kuun attacks seeking the limitless energy “Ide.” The earthlings are backed into a corner, when the three mechas piloted by the earth boy Yuki Cosmo and others fuse together. Becoming the giant robot Ideon, they use their incredible power to fight back against Baff Kuun.

主人公の少年ユウキ・コスモら地球人が移民したソロ星で、第六文明人の遺跡が発掘された。遺跡の文献からフォルモッサ・シェリルが導き出した名を取り、発掘された巨人ロボットはイデオンと呼ばれるようになる。
そのイデオンは、異星人バッフ・クランの伝説でイデの巨神として語り継がれていたものだった。イデ捜索隊隊長のギジェ・ザラルに無断で、カララ・アジバが調査のためにソロ星（ロゴ・ダウ）へ向かう。
コスモ、ジョーダン・ベス、イムホフ・カーシャがイデオンを操縦するが、二つの人類は双方とも相手を異星人と呼び、恐れ、自分の星を守るために異星人を殲滅しようとして戦火を拡大させた。
コスモ達はソロ星を捨て、イデオンの母船ソロシップに乗って宇宙を逃亡する。

二重太陽サンズを取り巻く５つの惑星からなる太陽系ペンタゴナ・ワールド。その辺境にある惑星コアムに青雲の志を胸に故郷を旅立った若者２人、ダバ・マイロードとミラウー・キャオがいた。
支配者ポセイダルによって治められているもののペンタゴナ・ワールドの政治は腐敗しており、各地では反乱軍が決起し戦乱が絶えなかった。ダバたちは元盗賊団のファンネリア・アムや、同様に青雲の志に燃えるギャブレット・ギャブレーと出会い、あるいは衝突しながら、ペンタゴナ・ワールドの実態を知るようになる。
ヘビーメタル・エルガイムを駆り、ポセイダル軍と戦うダバは、やがて反乱軍のリーダーとなっていった。

After surviving attacks by Zeon's Char Aznable and Garma Zabi, the crew of Federation warship White Base and its mobile suits must battle Zeon forces through Asia, Europe, and the Atlantic Ocean if they are to reach Earth Federation's headquarters alive. During that process, many of its crewmembers must overcome their fears, losses, immaturities, and insecurities in order to persevere.

It is the Correct Century, two millenniums after a devastating conflict which left the world broken. Earth is now mostly uninhabitable, and thus a remnant of humanity has resided on the Moon while the Earth and its few survivors recover.

The series followed Shō Zama, as he suddenly finds himself pulled to the world of Byston Well during a vehicular incident with one of his rivals. Byston Well is located in another dimension located between the sea and the land, and is populated with dragons, castles, knights, and powerful robots known as Aura Battlers. Once Shō is discovered to possess a very powerful "aura", he is drafted into the Byston Well conflict as the pilot of the lavender-colored Dunbine.

As in other Tomino creations, Dunbine's cast is populated by Nordic-looking military types in elaborate costumes on one side, a young Japanese hero caught in the middle, and freedom fighters on the other side. Beautiful female warriors abound on both sides, and the hero falls for the main female lead. There are romances that cut across battle lines, and the non-stop battles between elaborate fighting craft on land and on the air. Most of the cast pilot Aura Battlers, although there are lots of standard airships, smaller fighters, and large warships as well.

After a motocross accident, Sho Zama was pulled from Japan into the mystical world of Byston Well, where he and others from Earth were reicruited by Lord Drake Luft to pilot his newest weapons, the Aura Battlers, a combination of Byston Well magic and Earthien technology. However, in the heat of battle, Sho is approached by Marvel, a woman from Earth, who convinces him of Luft's sinister intentions.
