After hiding together in an abandoned barn one stormy night, wolf Gabu and goat Mei pledge to be secret friends, despite being natural enemies. They must overcome hardship and persecution in hopes of finding another forest where they can be together in peace.

2009年4月13日に『ハンチョウ～神南署安積班～』としてスタート以来、大好評の『ハンチョウ』シリーズの第6弾が、2013年1月に再始動！ みなさんの前に帰ってきます!!
前シリーズで警視庁へ異動し、難事件の解決に挑んだ安積班。今回は、現在、観光地としても国内外から注目されている東京スカイツリーのお膝元、押上地区へと舞台を移して活躍します。
ものがたりは、組織の硬直化が進む捜査現場の現状を打開するために、日本では初となる「分署」を設立することとなり、警視庁の川口刑事部長（里見浩太朗）が、押上地区をそのモデルケースに選んだところから始まります。
「警察署」と「交番」の間に立ち、中立的な働きを期待される「分署」。その署員として指名されたのが、半年前に警視庁・特捜一係として、抜群のチームワークを発揮して凶悪なテロ犯罪を防いだ安積剛志（佐々木蔵之介）、結城沙緒里（比嘉愛未）、尾崎誠（小澤征悦）、小池竜也（福士誠治）ら4人の刑事たち。
着任早々、安積班を待っていたのは、昔ながらの伝統的な職人気質を残しながら、観光客があふれ大きく変化している“下町”。特に、この町で長年開業医を続け、町中の人から「赤ひげ先生」と呼ばれ慕われている老医師・水沢圭次郎（橋爪功）は、警察組織に不信感を持ち、安積班の捜査にことごとく立ちはだかります。
安積班は、頑固一徹な水沢医師の心を溶かすことが出来るのか？
事件の謎解きやチーム内での葛藤に加え、様々なドラマの醍醐味を詰め込んで、各話バラエティ豊かに展開する「シリーズ6」は、前シリーズで描かれた“ハード”な部分も活かしつつ『ハンチョウ』ならではの“人情味”や“温かさ”を倍増させて、事件の面白さやちょっとした笑いも楽しめる、そしてグッと泣ける刑事ドラマを目指します。
