Set in the near future around Shinjuku, Tokyo. Shinji got out from a youth detention center. Barikan suffers from stuttering and extreme shyness. These two men meet in a boxing gym. Shinji and Barikan become friends and pursue boxing under a hopeless situation.

Constantly on the run from a vicious loan shark, two small-time con artists, Take and Tetsu, plan their biggest and most complex con yet in order to get revenge and retire from a life of crime. However, things get complicated when they cross paths with Mahiro, a young woman that Take inadvertently orphaned during a job gone awry years ago. Seeing Mahiro down on her luck, Take tries to relieve his guilt by taking her on as a partner, while hiding his true identity. But as his plan unfolds, Take discovers that he isn't the only one with a secret.

「ＣＵＲＥ」「カリスマ」の黒沢清監督最新作「アカルイミライ」の制作過程をつぶさに捉えた異色ドキュメンタリー。「森山大道」で注目された藤井謙二郎が、「アカルイミライ」の撮影現場に密着、黒沢監督へのインタビューを中心に、出演者やスタッフのコメントを織り交ぜ、映画監督黒沢清の創造の秘密に鋭く迫る。
今や世界が注目する監督の一人となった黒沢清の「回路」以来２年振りとなる新作「アカルイミライ」が2002年4月10日にクランクインした。主演のオダギリジョーはじめ、浅野忠信、藤竜也はみな初の黒沢作品への出演であり、それぞれが初顔合わせ。そんな中、撮影は東京を中心におよそ３週間に渡って行われた。その撮影現場の一部始終を藤井謙二郎のカメラが捉える。さらに、本作では「アカルイミライ」撮影中に撮られたメイキング映像そのものを見せながら、黒沢監督自らにその時の心境を語らせる独自の手法を用い、より具体的で率直な思いを引き出していく。

The movie takes place again in the fictional Wangan Station of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department the once empty space within Wangan's jurisdiction has become a popular tourist attraction. When a string of murders of company execs begins taking place, Aoshima jumps at the opportunity to pursue something other than his current case, which he finds less than inspiring. However the powers that be have other ideas, and Wangan again plays host to a special investigation team from headquarters. Aoshima's friend Superintendent Shinji Muroi, assigned by headquarters to assist Okita, is again powerless to help the local officers as decisions are made by the higher ups.

Aoshima, a police detective working in the Bayside Precinct, is continually frustrated by the hierarchy and red tape that plague the system. His friend Muroi is climbing the ladder of the police bureaucracy. Muroi has made a pact with Aoshima that while Aoshima looks after the streets, Muroi would make life easier for the cops on the beat. One day in Bayside, a series of events turns the small station upside down.

Aoshima is a rookie detective who has come to take a post at the Wangan Police Station in Odaiba. But what awaited this ex-salesman looking for stimulation was petty work and a rigid hierarchical control. Higashiyama Yui works as a director at Net Heroes, a web production company. Due to her workaholic father and bad experiences in the past, she loathes working overtime. Even 2 years ago, she broke off her engagement to Taneda Kotaro because he was a workaholic.

At her job, Higashiyama Yui always leaves at the end of the regular working day and never works overtime. She tries to be as efficient as possible and productive during her normal working hours. After she leaves her office, Higashiyama Yui normally drinks beer at her regular Chinese restaurant. Her peaceful days begin to change after a new department head arrives at work.

An MSDF submarine collides with a U.S. nuclear submarine, crushing all 76 people on board, including its CO, Shiro Kaieda. However, the crew survives. The accident is a cover story to get the MSDF submarine's crew on board the Seabat, a nuclear submarine secretly built by the Japanese and U.S. governments. However, Kaieda loads the Seabat with nuclear missiles and suddenly mutinies and flees.
