圣杯：传说中可实现持有者一切愿望的宝物。而为了得到圣杯的仪式就被称为圣杯戦争。
参加圣杯戦争的7名由圣杯选出的魔术师被称为御主（マスター，英文Master），与7名被称为从者（サーヴァント，英文Servant）的使魔订定契约。他们是由圣杯选择的七位英灵，被分为七个职阶，以使魔的身份被召唤出来。
七种职业分别为：
剑兵（セイバー，Saber），使用剑为主武器的英灵
枪兵（ランサー，Lancer），使用枪为主武器的英灵
弓兵（アーチャー，Archer），以弓箭为主武器的英灵
骑兵（ライダー，Rider），以骑乘工具作为武器的英灵
魔术师（キャスター，Caster），主要使用魔术攻击的英灵

圣杯承认的使用者只有一个，御主（Master）一定得与七种职业的从者（Servant）之一立下契约，证明自己是有资格拥有圣杯的人。《Fate/Zero》，2006年12月29日由TYPE-MOON与Nitro+合作发售的小说。为《Fate/stay night》的前传，以描述第四次圣杯之战为主，故事原著《Fate/stay night》则为第五次圣杯之战。

为了获得圣杯能实现奇迹的法力，七个魔术士召唤出七人的英灵，展开了一场直到剩下最后一个人为止的终极战争----圣杯战争。
之前三次没有结果的战役不足以让这场战争结束，第四场战役如今有如弦上之箭，一触即发。

The Undines are professional gondoliers, tour guides for the people passing through. Akari Mizunashi is an Undine in training and this is a piece of her story.

美术大学五人组的故事仍在继续。竹本（神谷浩史 配音）结束了寻找自我的单车之旅，在盛放烟火的晚上对阿久（工藤晴香 配音）说出了那句“我喜欢你。”山田（高桥美佳子 配音）依旧陷在单恋真山（杉田智和 配音）的泥沼中，野宫（滨田贤二 配音）的出现成了泥沼里一株逃脱的稻草；真山则继续追寻着理花（大原沙耶香 配音），胜利的曙光在不远处；森田（上田佑司 配音）和阿久，两个天才的兮兮相惜，能否换来最后的相守。
时间在四季轮回中流逝，微小的变化一点点积攒成为不可忽视的转折点。五人都面临着新的人生，各奔东西。已逝去的奇迹般的岁月，并不会消失，而成为永久的回忆，在内心转动。改编自同名漫画的《蜂蜜与四叶草》故事也走向终点，但对于他们，这则是新的起点。
