故事发生在一个小镇上，冈崎朋也是光坂高中在校生，因为家庭原因他一直过着浑浑噩噩的生活。他不参加任何社团活动，唯一的朋友是春原阳平。
某天的上学途中，在樱花飞舞的坡道上，他邂逅了一名少女——古河渚，从此他的生活发生改变。渚因病休学一年，重返校园的她对周围环境感到相当不适应。她想加入戏剧部，然而戏剧部早已休部。朋也决定帮助她一起开展戏剧部的活动，二人关系变得越发亲密。随后不久朋也在图书馆中结识了一名天才少女一之濑琴美。

在某个小镇，主角冈崎朋也因为家庭的因素成为不良少年，一直与春原阳平为伍，在光坂高校过着潦倒的生活，但冀望终有一天能够离开所在的小镇。某一天，他在学校坡道前发现了一个止步不前的女孩，在朋也认识了这个名为“古河渚”的女孩后，他的生活开始有了重大的变化。

前半为主角和女主角们之间所发生的事件，后半After story为主角和古河渚，在冈崎中学毕业之后，共同生活的日子，其中还穿插了“幻想世界”，CLANNAD就是由这三个要素所组成的故事。

在一座远离大都会吵闹喧嚣的平凡小镇，不甚兴旺的兔子山商业街内，生活着一群可爱有趣的人。故事的女主角北白川玉子（洲崎绫 配音）是当地饼店“玉屋”的长女，她性格活泼随和，擅长制作饮食，与对门面饼店“大路屋”的儿子大路饼藏（田丸笃志 配音）是一对青梅竹马，不过两家的爸爸是典型的同行冤家，彼此一见面便战火不断。这一日，玉子在花店意外发现一只会说话的鸟（山崎巧 配音）。鸟自称来自南方，肩负着神秘使命。鸟的到来自然为玉子和周边人的生活增添不少乐趣，而快乐浪漫的青春校园生活又令人心驰神往。
围绕着情人节、祭祀以及部团活动，兔子山商业街平凡而有趣的故事交替上演……

A strange turn of events leads the Dragon, Tohru, to work as Miss Kobayashi's maid. She occasionally (that's a lie, she often) causes trouble for her beloved Miss Kobayashi while blending into human society and splendidly (that's a lie, only mediocrely) carrying out her maid duties. Her fellow dragons, Kanna, Lucoa, Fafnir, and Elma all find their own places to fit in as well and enjoy interspecies interactions with the humans. Yet while they're all enjoying that laid-back and occasionally turbulent left, the threat of a new Dragon swoops down upon Miss Kobayashi.

顺利升入高中的少年富樫勇太（福山润 配音）在初中时代曾是暗黑系的中二病患者，当年他自称黑炎之主人，自我感觉良好地度过了无厘头的中学生活。但是此刻他“痛改前非”，将这段经历看作不堪回首的耻辱过去，为此甚至不惜报考一个离家很远没有人认识自己的高中。在新的学校，勇太如愿以偿结 交了一色诚（保志总一朗 配音）、丹生谷森夏（赤崎千夏 配音）以及学姐五月七日茴香（浅仓幸美 配音）这样稍显正常的朋友，也准备和心仪的女孩大谈一场浪漫恋爱。但是令他备为挠头的是，楼上新搬来的住户兼同班同学小鸟游六花（内田真礼 配音）却是一个中二病的深度患者。小女孩每天唧唧歪歪，怪力乱神。好不容易摆脱初中阴影的勇太，高中恋爱之梦日渐飘渺……

Yuuta and Rikka are in their third year of high school. One day in Spring, Touka declares that she will take Rikka to Italy with her, as her job has stabilized there and thinks they should migrate together as a family. Touka is also worried about Rikka not being competent enough to advance to universities in Japan. The gangs from the club suggested Yuuta, who doesn't want to be separated, to elope with Rikka!! A runaway drama throughout Japan begins.

Yukito Kunisaki est en voyage à la recherche de la jeune fille ailée qui a été liée au ciel il y a des siècles, après avoir entendu un vieux conte d'enfance de sa mère. 　　京阿尼新作动画《日常》最终还是敲定为OAD先行TV版紧接其后的推出方式，OAD版如早前所公布的，将在3月发售的最新漫画单行版中捆绑发行，而TV版的播放时间确定为2011年4月，正式参战明年4月的新番狂潮。
　　除了即将捆绑发行的OAD“日常0话”外，本作还正式确定了同步PSP游戏化的企划，并且将在年头开始在网络广播中放送“日常RADIO”。
　　2011年3月，OAD第零话以DVD的形式与原作漫画的第六卷单行本捆绑发售。

Miss Kobayashi, Tohru, Kanna, and Iruru's peaceful lives are shattered when Kanna's father, Kimun Kamui, leader of the Chaos Forces, arrives and forces her to return to the Dragon World to fix a past mistake. With a war brewing between Chaos and Harmony, Kanna must find a way to unite the two worlds but is torn between her loyalty to her friends and her father's demands. Miss Kobayashi, however, refuses to let her go and tries to mend Kanna and Kamui's broken bond. As dragons clash, Iruru uncovers a hidden force manipulating the war. Following their success in the qualifying round for the Kansai regional competition, the members of the Kitauji High School concert band set their sights on the next upcoming performance. Utilizing their summer break to the utmost, the band participates in a camp where they are instructed by their band advisor Noboru Taki and his friends who make their living as professional musicians. Kumiko Oumae and her friends remain determined to attain gold at the Kansai competition, but trouble arises when a student who once quit the band shows interest in rejoining and sparks unpleasant memories for the second-year members. Kumiko also learns about her teacher's surprising past and the motivation behind his desire to lead the band to victory. Reaching nationals will require hard work, and the adamant conviction in each student's commitment to the band will be put to the test.
