Takumi and his six-year-old son, Yuji, haven't come to terms with their wife and mother's death. One day, they meet a woman with an uncanny resemblance to her sheltering from the rain near their home.

山田太郎（二宫和也 饰），相貌英俊，品学兼优，笑容灿烂，为人和善。这样的他浑身都散发出一股贵族般的气息，令班上的女生为之倾倒。尤其是池上隆子（多部末华子 饰），这个做梦都想钓到金龟婿的的女孩，更是下定决心不泡到山田君誓不罢休。但是一次跟踪让隆子的美梦彻底的破碎了，原来山田太郎不仅不是有钱人，甚至连普通人都算不上，他住在自家搭建的违建里，还有六个和他一样穷的叮当响的弟妹！山田太郎的朋友御村托也（樱井翔 饰）倒是个贵公子，他十分喜欢山田太郎朴实的性格，也喜欢看班上的白痴女生被她们的幻觉耍得团团转的样子，因此，他希望隆子能够保守这个秘密，甚至不惜使出威逼利诱的手段。
杉浦圭一（忍成修吾 饰）非常看不过山田太郎的完美作风，同时也对他的超高人气心怀妒忌。一次偶然的事件让他对山田太郎的真实身份产生了怀疑，但随着对他的了解，圭一悲剧的发现自己居然对同样是男性的山田太郎产生了异样的感情。

Mothra and her fairies return to Japan to warn mankind that they must return Kiryu to the sea, for the dead must not be disturbed. However Godzilla has survived to menace Japan leaving Kiryu as the nation's only defense.

The story follows the social intercourse between a cameraman, Masaya, with a visual impairment, and Misako who disconnects from the world.

'Female' is comprised of five short films adapted from five novels by female authors. Directed by Shinya Tsukamoto, Tetsuo Shinohara, Ryuichi Hiroki, Miwa Nishikawa, and Suzuki Matsuo.
