A depressed programmer and a model decide to seek gold as a seemingly good job opportunity, but they inadvertently become involved in a well-planned Internet scam.

The couple of Ma Xiao, a foreign correspondent, and Pan Wenjia, a volunteer doctor, accompanied engineer Miao Feng on a trip to the suburbs to repair a base station. During the trip, the local situation suddenly changed and the three were kidnapped by an extremist organisation. While in prison, they met Zhou Weijie, an overseas Chinese businessman. A group of civilians hiding in the Lucky Photo Studio to escape the violence are forced to assist a Japanese military photographer in developing film to survive each day. By chance, they develop photographic evidence that exposes the Japanese army's massacre in the city.
