a review of The Dragon Republic

it was a fun read. the whole point for me is that it doesn’t bore me—most of the times, historical fiction does. also, i love how i get to understand more about wars and colonialism/imperialism directly from the people involved, but in a detached way (since it’s fiction).

edition-specific review: i love how this trilogy is narrated by emily woo zeller. she makes it easy for listeners (me) to identify who’s talking, as we have lots of characters here. i think her narration is also what keeps me listening.
