Tōkyō no kyūjitsu - Review
gonna be honest: this film doesn’t have a whole lot going for it. bad acting. bad editing. bad storytelling. bad freshman-year philosophy. BUT there’s also some incredible out of context line reads and beautiful shots. wanna see an aging eddie constantine try to enjoy a bowl of ramen while a punk named elvis berates him to watch his sodium? this film’s got you covered. also this film is “untranslated” BUT it’s about 85% english, 10% japanese, 5% spanish. sometimes i’m like “this film needs a boutique bluray” but in this case i’m pretty sure this is perfectly experienced as a grimy degraded VHS (complimentary). jesse pull the RV up on the beach, we have to cook more Tokyo Holiday
