The Bitch - Review

criminally-underseen beautifully-shot untranslated grimy post-war neon-soaked noir melodrama from the director of 35 other films you've also never heard of. usually i'm diving through these films looking for the hidden gems and this is definitely one of them. tale as old as time: accountant works for a company 30 years straight without missing a single day of work, neglecting his wife and daughter etc., out on a business trip runs into a cabaret dancer (Machiko Kyō in an incredible performance), loses his suitcase with 3 million yen to her crook brother, immediately goes full simp olympics for her completely leaving his family, home, and career behind, moves in with her, gets a fancy shave and a haircut, things can only go up from here, right? well, watch and see
