Dialogue avec mon jardinier was a disarming film. I love this type of French film, featuring dialogues (or a narrating voice-over) that turn simple, relatable everyday subjects into something profound, which is a testimonial to successful storytelling. Ever since I saw Le Huitième Jour, I've always liked the performances of Daniel Auteuil. His role in Dialogue avec mon jardinier is no exception, and there's a pleasant, palpable chemistry with his equally competent co-star Jean-Pierre Darroussin.
