a review of 当怪物来敲门

A Monster Calls is a skillfully crafted fantasy film with a tad too much melodrama to my liking, but the 3D fairy-tale animation scenes with an artistic watercolor style are gorgeous, and the boy's performance is laudable. It was also nice to see good old Sigourney Weaver back. If you liked A Monster Calls, I recommend watching Bernard Rose's Paper House (1988), and Tim Burton's Big Fish (2003).
