a review of 未来机器城

I really enjoyed Next Gen. The story, the 3D CG, the character development and the satirical content, it all came together very well. The robot creators were obvious winks to Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, and the massive robot love was an equally obvious satire of present day smartphone and tech gear addiction. Next Gen also reflected elements from films such as Blade Runner, Minority Report, The Iron Giant, Pacific Rim and Chronicle. Next Gen radiated the genuine motivation and inspiration of a studio that hasn't grown too big and saturated, like Pixar since they fused with Disney, when dull, safe conventions took over in the service of commerce. Last but not least, Next Gen was produced using the great open source 3D editor Blender, which is one of the main creative tools in my daily work. Another two thumbs up for that.
